PROJECT BREAKDOWN
- 4 days full time
- Created in Unity, with the help of GitFork
- 4 endless minigames
- 2 Game Designers, 3 Game Artists, 2 Game Programmers & 1 Sound Designer

MY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initial game pitch & recruitment of a full team

- Game Design Lead (organisation & planning)
- Game & Mechanics Design

- Camera & Menu coding

- Version control (git management)
Having your idea selected out of 37 pitches is daunting.
This was a challenge, but I went for it and got rewarded!

My principle concern was the rules. I made wireframes, lists, balancing equations and compiled them all into a single rule document.

I learned some producer skills by completing an excel with all tasks in process or to do. Ranked by priority, they contained vital information such as the person in charge, the result expected and how long it would take to do.

This really helped the team communicate and understand everyone else's progress!
Selling the idea is almost as important as the game itself.

The final afternoon of the Jam was dedicated to testing. My team and I set up as many PCs as we could, posters to advertise and, most importantly, a whiteboard with the current High Score.
This idea of competition attracted many people! I believe that it greatly encouraged testers to vote for us, winning us the prize of "Best Gameplay".
REFLECTIONS

This project is proof to myself that I'm going somewhere.
I feel like I truly fulfilled my role as Game Designer. I worked hard to reduce the scope and pace my team so that we could finish a game that we could all be proud of.
If I were to continue working on it, I would add a ton of juice! It's an arcade game, so each message completed needs to POP.
